Up to 25 Straight

Another game, another win against a Big 12 team. The North Dakota State Bison went into Ames, Iowa and thumped the Iowa State Cyclones 34-14. (Why the Iowa Hawkeyes cannot do that, I will never be able to figure out.) The win is the 25th straight for the Bison and sets a FCS record for a winning streak. It also makes up for the 2009 loss to the Cyclones. Iowa State joins Kansas and Kansas State as Big 12 teams that have lost to the Bison.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 14-0 lead and then the Bison received an 80-yard run by John Crockett and the Bison imposed their will for the rest of the game, scoring 34 unanswered points in front of a sellout crowd of 54,800. ND State rushed for 299 yards with an entirely new offensive line and racked up over 500 yards total. The surprising thing here is that 12 starters from the Bison championship team last year are gone as well as most of the coaching staff that went to Wyoming.

Next up is Weber State in Ogden, Utah next Saturday. The reigning kings of the FCS look strong out of the gate. It is possible for a 4-peat if things fall right.

Isn't it fun to beat up on the bigger non-conference teams? I can't wait to see what SDSU does this season.

Yes it is. Especially when you go to their stadiums and shut down the crowd. And you are beating up programs that are in the elite conferences of America.

Hell, the University of Minnesota has publicly said that they will not schedule the Bison again. So much for the superiority of the Big 10.

Nice win. My Black Bears edged Norfolk (nor drink nor smoke) State yesterday. LOL
