2017 College Football Picks vs. The Spread - Week 3

A 3-7 week showed me that I just can't go with the big spreads for the favorites.

Week 3 Games:

1. (19) Stanford at San Diego State (+8.5) - The Aztecs have looked good so far. Stepping up in weight class, I think that they will keep it close.

2. (18) Kansas State at Vanderbilt (+3.5) - The upset special for this week. I expect Vandy to go 3-0 on the back of their defense.

3. Texas at (4) USC (-15.5) - Tom Hermann was expected to turn the Longhorns around immediately. He hasn't done that and the Trojans will show why.

4. (3) Clemson (-3) at (14) Louisville - Lamar Jackson is going nuts this year. He is why Louisville is ranked. I just don't think he has enough help to win this game.

5. Colorado State at (1) Alabama (-28) - Nick Saban is the guy that decides by how many points the Crimson Tide win by. I expect that he will want to cover this spread.

6. SMU at (20) TCU (-20) - SMU needs to improve their reputation in games against ranked teams. This is another chance for them, but I don't see them being close.

7. (9) Oklahoma State (-11.5) at Pittsburgh - The Panthers were beat down by Penn State last week. The Cowboys will do the same.

8. (23) Tennessee at (24) Florida (-4) - The Gators have better talent, coaching, and are at home. That means that the Gators shouldn't blow this game.

9. (12) LSU at Mississippi State (+7.5) - LSU is the 3rd best team in the SEC. They will win this, but the Bulldogs will make them earn it.

10. Air Force (+23) at (7) Michigan - The Air Force will keep this game semi close. The Jim Harbaugh rumors to Indianapolis might have an adverse eccect on the Wolverines.

Another 7-2-1 week. That gets me up to 17-11-2 vs. the point spread.
