2017 College Football Picks vs The Spread - Week 5

Still 6 games above .500. The picks rallied late last week after staring 0-4.

1. Vanderbilt (+9) at (21) Florida - Not sold on the Gators after escaping Kentucky and the Commodores are better than what they showed against Alabama last week.

Vanderbilt 24, Florida 27
Actual Score: Vanderbilt 24, Florida 38

2. (7) Georgia (-9.5) at Tennessee - Georgia is starting to look like the team that has been expected the past 5 years. Tennessee isn't all that.

3. Northern Illinois at (19) San Diego Aztecs (-9.5) - San Diego State is the better team and Northern Illinois is travelling half way across the country.

4. Mississippi at (1) Alabama (-28) - The Crimson Tide have been playing hard when they want to. They will want to this week.

Mississippi 10, Alabama 42
Actual Score: Mississippi 3, Alabama 66

5. (2) Clemson (-7) at Virginia Tech - A possible trouble spot for the Tigers, but they have looked real good so far against possible upset opponents.

Actual Score: Clemson 31, Virginia Tech 17

6. Troy (+20.5) at (25) LSU - Let's take the underdog to cover against a underperforming Tigers team.

Troy 24, LSU 41

7. (24) Mississippi State (+8) at (13) Auburn - The Bulldogs melted down last week against Georgia. I believe that they will bounce back.

Mississippi State 27, Auburn 24
Actual Score: Mississippi State 10, Auburn 49

8. Indiana (+18) at (4) Penn State - The Hoosiers can score points. They won't win, but they should keep it within two scores.

Indiana 27, Penn State 38
Actual Score: Indiana 14, Penn State 45

9. (15) Oklahoma State (-10) at Texas Tech - Look for the Cowboys to bounce back from the home loss to TCU.

Oklahoma State 48, Texas Tech 31
Actual Score: Oklahoma State 41, Texas Tech 34

10. (11) Ohio State (-28.5) at Rutgers - Ohio State is not the juggernaaut that everybody thought at the beginning of the season. But Rutgers isn't any good at all.

Ohio State 45, Rutgers 14
Actual Score: Ohio State 56, Rutgers 0

Another 5-5 week. Still 6 games above .500 for the season.
