2014 College Football Odds Picks - Week 9

After this week, we are going to be 3/4 of the way through the regular season. I am hoping that I can have a great last 3 weeks and get close to the .500 mark for the season. Who could have guessed that both Mississippi schools would be in the Top 3 of the polls right now and it is funny that the politicing has already begun. Marshall has hired a PR firm to try and get into the playoffs because they believe that they will go undefeated this year. Of course if you look at their schedule, there is not very tough teams there. So I don't think that Marshall has a snowballs chance in hell of making it, but it is an example of how crazy this year has been.

#6 Oregon (-17.5) at California - The Ducks look like they are becoming what everybody thought that they would be. The defense is improving and the offense can still score.
Oregon 48, California 24

#1 Mississippi State at Kentucky (+14.5)- While I don't expect an upset, I do expect this to be closer than many of the experts think. I am impressed with the Wildcats and what they have done this year.
Mississippi State 31, Kentucky 27

Michigan at #8 Michigan State (-17) - Little brother will win this game mighty handily. The Spartans are better than the Wolverines by a large amount. This game will prove it.
Michigan 17, Michigan State 41

Texas Tech at #10 TCU (-23) - I am still wondering what was the fascination with Kliff Kingsbury was at the beginning of the season. So far, the Red Raiders haven't looked good. TCU is still in play for the Big 12 title and a possible playoff birth.
Texas Tech 24, TCU 49

#3 Mississippi at #24 LSU (+3.5) - I am going out on a limb here. I am picking LSU straight up in winning this game. The Rebels have had good games, but they do not play well when going into the bayou.
Mississippi 27, LSU 31

#4 Alabama (-19) at Tennessee - The Volunteers welcome back Lane Kiffin with this game. I expect that they will want his hide even more after the Tide does in fact roll.
Alabama 45, Tennessee 14

South Carolina (+19.5) at #5 Auburn - Oh how I would like to see Steve Spurrier win this game. But the Tigers are just too much for his Gamecocks.
South Carolina 28, Auburn 47
