2014 College Football Odds Picks - Week 5

We are getting closer each and every week to having a winning week. This has to be the week that I break through. I am not loving the underdogs this weekend. As a matter of fact, I don't believe that any of the Top 10 teams playing this week are in serious danger of losing their game.

This is the bad time for college football. It is starting major conference play and the big conferences hate to have their top teams playing each other right now. Can you imagine Alabama and Auburn playing in Week 5 of the season? In just a few weeks, the heavyweights of each conference start knocking heads with each other. This week is just an appetizer for those games.

Wyoming at #9 Michigan State (-28.5) - Wyoming goes from playing Oregon and the Quack Attack to the Grinding Spartan Machine. What a difference in styles to prepare for. As was the case in the Oregon game, Wyoming is going to be outclassed in the athletic department. I will give the points and take the Spartans and their beef up front.

Wyoming 17, Michigan State 52

#1 Florida State (-18) at North Carolina State - While the Seminoles have been using up most of their nine lives, I believe that the wake up call vs. Clemson will drive the Seminoles to a very good game.

Florida State 48, NC State 21

Arkansas at #6 Texas A&M (-10) - The Aggies high rolling offense has hit a speed bump or two this season. I think that they can hit high throttle against the Razorbacks. The Razorbacks shouldn't be looked at as a major threat in the SEC.

Arkansas 27, Texas A&M 45

Louisiana Tech at #5 Auburn (-33.5) - Auburn walked out of Manhattan, KS last Thursday night the beneficiaries of the Wildcats struggles in the Red Zone. Gus Malzahn will have his Tigers ready to explode.

Louisiana Tech 10, Auburn 65

Memphis at #10 Mississippi (-21) - Memphis had a promising team around 5 years ago. Not anymore. Give me Ole Miss and lets see what all the hubbub is all about or if it is just more hot air from the SEC.

Memphis 24, Mississippi 48

#8 Notre Dame (-10) at Syracuse - I am not sure that I understand why this point spread is where it is at. The Orangemen are coming off a 14 point loss to the mighty Maryland Terps. And they are only 10 point underdogs to the #8 team in the nation? Either Syracuse is a tough team (losing to Maryland?) or Vegas does not believe in the Irish.

Notre Dame 38, Syracuse 20

#7 Baylor at Iowa State (+22) - Baylor is steamrolling their way to a showdown with Oklahoma. I don't think that this is an upset special, but I think that the Cyclones can keep it closer than many do.

Baylor 42, Iowa State 31

#2 Oregon and #4 Oklahoma have a Bye this weekend.
