2014 College Football Spread Picks - Week 2

OK, Week 1 is usually bad for me and this year was no exception. A .143 winning percentage won't get me my own late night show promising winners and earning you money online from Vegas. But what it does do is allow me to say that it can't get any worse and not have much pressure on me. Come on now, am I going to worry that I might go below a .100 Winning percentage? No. And 4 of the Top 10 teams I cannot pick because three have no lines and Georgia doesn't play this weekend. I want to be above the Mendoza Line after this weekend, so here we go picking winners.

Florida Atlantic at #2 Alabama (-40) - I am hoping that the coaching staff allows the players freedom to play and not be robots. That way, Bama will roll up the points and storm to a 60 burger. Not much of a contest here.
Alabama 66, FAU 14

#4 Oklahoma at Tulsa (+25.5) - This shouldn't be much of a battle either. Oklahoma is the better team. However, the Golden Hurricane usually keep their game vs. the Sooners semi-close. I am taking the points here.
Oklahoma 45, Tulsa 21

#7 Michigan State (+12) at #3 Oregon - The 7th ranked team in the nation getting 12 points? I will take that almost every time. Sparty heads West and dictates the tempo. Doesn't mean that they will win, but the Ducks sputter when the opponent can control the line of scrimmage. That is a hallmark of Big 10 teams.
Oregon 24, Michigan State 21

San Jose State at #5 Auburn (-31.5) - I still think Auburn is a fraud that is perpetrated by the SEC and it's reputation. However, San Jose State isn't the ones to make Auburn show their true colors. 70 points is possible by the Tigers.
Auburn 62, San Jose State 17

Lamar at #9 Texas A&M
No Line at the current time
Texas A&M 72, Lamar 7

Citadel at #1 Florida State
No Line at the current time
Florida State 58, Citadel 3

Northwestern State at #10 Baylor
No Line at the current time
Baylor 54, Northwestern State 0

Virginia Tech at #8 Ohio State (-11) - Ohio State is a flawed team. The Big 10 is hoping that somehow the Buckeyes can make it through undefeated. It isn't going to happen. There are too many holes in the team. However, the Hokies don't have the manpower to expose them greatly.
Ohio State 38, Virginia Tech 26

#6 Georgia (Bye)
